MORE THAN A LAW FIRM

Business leaders are required to make difficult decisions, often with incomplete information and real consequences. Legal counsel plays an important role in that process, not just by identifying risk, but by helping clients think clearly and move forward with confidence.

Throughout his career, Troy has found that his role extends beyond drafting agreements or issuing legal opinions. Clients often need a steady sounding board, a candid assessment of risk, and practical judgment informed by experience. Cruxterra was formed to provide that kind of counsel — thoughtful, proactive, and grounded in common sense.

While every engagement is different, Cruxterra emphasizes clarity in scope, transparency in fees, and efficiency in execution. Whether structured on a flat-fee, hourly, or ongoing basis, engagements are designed to align legal work with business priorities.

WHY “CRUXTERRA”?

Before becoming an attorney, Troy taught experiential education, including rock climbing, to high school students. In climbing, the “crux” is the most technically demanding part of the route. It is the point where preparation, judgment, and composure matter most.

Troy would teach the necessary skills and then watch his students work through the crux and continue upward. The most rewarding part of that experience was seeing someone confront a challenge directly and move past it with confidence.

The same principle applies in business and law. Most companies do not need legal advice when things are routine. They need it when facing a difficult negotiation, a complex transaction, or a strategic decision with real risk.

Cruxterra exists to help clients navigate those moments, the crux points, with clarity, preparation, and steady guidance.
